Bonnie Braid brand at the 4mm (.16" or 5/32nds inch) thickness, is a braided polypropylene cord, 100 yards (91.44 meters) length. This cord is most suitable for small to large macramé applications such as rugs, mats, plant hangers, purses, and wall hangings. We recommend using a Macarme Project Board for smaller knotting tasks. Similar to a Bulky (size 6) weight yarn, this cord can be used for home décor knitting and crochet projects; use U.S. 11 or 8mm needles (for knitting,) or K/10.5 - N/13 or 6.5mm - 9mm hook for crochet projects.

This cording is fusible (melt ends together with a lighter or melting tool). Fuse ends together to join ends or finish without making knots. This thickness can also be spliced together to form hidden knots.

Tensile weight limit is 91 lbs. Test report available upon request.

    NIce Cord

Sturdy, feels good to the touch, versatile, and fabulous colors! Not only is it good for macrame, but makes an excellent drawstring for the waist of skirts or pants - a use I hadn't thought of until I received it. When the waistband elastic in my broomstick skirts gets too loose with age, I stitch on a piece of grosgrain ribbon and run a drawstring though it, thereby extending the life of the garments. Great price too!

    4MM Bonnie Craft Cord

Posted by Ruth Tolentino on Jun 14th 2018

I have used the 4mm craft cord for years to make my clutch purses. People still show me they're purses that I made over 20 years ago and the purses still look like I made them yesterday. The color of the cords are still vibrant and the firmness of the cord is still strong.

    Easy to work with

Posted by Unknown on Feb 13th 2018

I like working with Bonnie Craft Cord because it doesn't tangle when pulling the long cords through to make knots when I'm doing large macrame wall hangings. Also, the cord is "clean" and doesn't make a lot of dust as when working with jute. It's easy on the hands too. It's smooth and non-irritating. I've made several projects with Bonnie Craft Cord. The price is right as well.

    Gold macrame cord

The gold macramé cord was the best color and easy to work with for my "Mr. Sunshine" wall hanging. It matched my curtains perfectly too.

Bonnie 4mm exactly what I wanted

Good quality. The product was what I expected. This is the first macrame I've done in 40 years, but the projects have turned out well. I will order here again, maybe try some new colors.
