Bonnie Braid brand at the 6mm (.24" or 1/4th inch) thickness, is a braided polypropylene cord, 100 yards (91.44 meters) long. This cord is most suitable for small to large macramé applications such as rugs, mats, plant hangers, purses, and wall hangings. Similar to a Super Bulky (size 6-7) weight yarn, this cord can be used for home décor knitting and crochet projects; use U.S. 11 or 8mm needles (for knitting,) or Q or 15.75mm - 16mm hook for crochet projects.

This cording is fusible (melt ends together with a lighter or melting tool). Fuse ends together to join ends or finish without making knots. This thickness can also be spliced together to form hidden knots (use a cord splicing tool such as the Magic Splicer).

Tensile weight limit is 154 lbs. Test report available upon request.

6mm Bonnie Braid is also available in 50 yards (45.72 meters) length.

100% polypropylene.
Made in the USA. Note: Colors Flamingo, Arctic Blue and Chartreuse were made in China.

    6 mm cord

Posted by Carly Linza on Oct 12th 2019

I love the selection of colors for my macrame crafting needs, the only reason my review isn’t 5 stars is because the shipping is relatively slower and I wish there was an equal selection for natural cord and not just black or cream. I’d much rather have a non nylon cord.

    Bonnie Braid Craft Cord

Posted by Deborah A Carvalho on Aug 17th 2019

I made my first chair from Bonnie Braid 22 years ago and after constant use, it finally broke this year. NOT the braided part, mind you, but the plastic handle on the frame! This stuff is durable as heck, and makes a wonderful back-supporting chair! The patterns are easy to follow and the material is easy to work with. My only complaint is the cost of shipping, but I guess that should be taken up with the USPS!

This is some of the best cording I have worked with. Really like the variety of colors. Pretty quick shipping response. Looking forward to seeing more choices of colors and variegated colors too.
