Round Stitch (Plastic Lacing) or Crown Knot
Round Stitch Instructions makes 1 Lanyard, about 3-4 inches (7.6 - 10 cm) long.
Two 1 foot strands of plastic lacing = about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of stitches or knots.
Materials needed to make a Round Stitch:
- Scissors
- Two 1 yard strands of Rexlace or S'getti String in contrasting colors
- Clear-drying craft glue (for finishing)


Fig. 2- You can start with any strand. Seen here, you fold strand D towards strand B at an angle. Rest strand D to the left of strand B.
Fig. 3- Fold strand B at a diagonal towards the fold/loop of strand D. Rest strand to the right of strand D. It is important that the lines do NOT cross; keep same-colors parallel.
Fig. 4- With strand A, fold it over strand D and under strand B. Rest this strand close to the fold/loop.

Fig. 5- Take strand C and fold it over strand B and under strand D. Rest this strand close to the fold/loop.

Fig. 6- Grasp all the ends and pull. Tug tightly to complete the first stitch.

Fig. 7- Continue with the next layer. You will repeat steps 2-6. Grasp strand A and fold it towards strand C. Rest strand A to the right of strand C.
Fig. 8- Fold strand C towards the fold/loop of strand A. Rest strand C to the left of strand A. Again, is important that the lines do NOT cross.
Fig. 9- With strand D, fold it over strand C and under strand A. Rest this strand next to the fold/loop.
Fig. 10- Take strand B and fold it over strand A, and under strand C. Rest this strand close to the fold/loop.

Fig. 11- Grasp all the ends and pull. Tug tightly to completing another stitch.
Continue until you’ve achieved the desired length. Remember to keep same-color strands from crossing and try to prevent the lines from twisting before you tighten each layer.
