Product Overview

Our 100% treated cotton fluid wick is designed for applications in the hatchery, HVAC and medical industries. The most common use is in the hatchery business. Our fluid wick is used worldwide. Sold on four pound spools. An alternative use is for fragrance dispersion. Double Bleached and Treated. The ID of the fluid wick line is approximately 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) relaxed. Major hatcheries world wide use our fluid wick / settlers wick / incubator wick.

This is one of the best wicks for fragrance dispersion, as it has been treated for extra absorbency. These types of wicks are very hydrophilic. Alternate short term wicks are made of paper or untreated lower grades of cotton yarns. Dispersion is related to the "lift" your fragrance has and the amount of "area" it is allowed to escape from. When designing a device for dispersion consider this (Fluid/Incubator Wick) or Wet Bulb line for testing.

Alternative uses include: Bindings on snow shoes, buffing medium to polish metallic finishes like brass musical instruments, lubrication wick for slow moving machine gears, and strapping.

All Fluid/Incubator wicks are available on 4 pound (1.8 kg) spools; yield per spool will vary due to wick thickness, estimated below:

1400 - About 165 yards (150.88 meters) each spool. Absorption rate about 11 grams per yard. Outer casing measurement about 1/2 - 5/8 inch (12.7 - 15.88 mm). This wick is knitted.

1467 - About 112 yards (102.4 meters) each spool. Absorption rate about 16 grams per yard. Outer casing measurement about 3/8 inch (9.5 mm). This wick is braided.

1471 - About 112 yards (102.4 meters) each spool (Absorption rate about 16 grams/yard. Outer casing measurement about 5/8 inch (15.88 mm). This wick is knitted.

1613 - About 55 yards (50.29 meters) each spool (Absorption rate about 33 grams/yard. Outer casing measurement about 3/4 inch (19 mm). This wick is braided.
