Keep your wine bottle lantern flames from "dancing"; apply clear glass flame protector. This glass flame protector will fit over most wine bottles. Caution: If the wine bottle has a flange at the top of the bottle that exceeds 1-3/16" (OD) the glass flame protector may not fit over the top of the bottle. The purpose of the flame protector is to protect the flame generated by a ceramic wick holder assembly from being extinguished by moving air in drafty areas.
Here's a fun way to turn a wine bottle into decorative lighting: fill about 2/3 with some liquid paraffin fuel, insert a fiberglass wick and ceramic holder. The wick should poke out of the top of the ceramic holder about 1/8 - 1/4 inch. Allow time for the wick to absorb some of the fuel before lighting. Once lit, gently ease the glass flame protector around the bottle opening and the flame. The flame should stabilize and "dance" a little less since it's protected from drafts. Please note: use a flame protector to prevent fire and injury.
This package contains one clear glass flame protector, which measures about 5.75 inch (14.6 cm) tall x 2.25 inch (5.72 cm) at the widest point.
Warning: For outdoor torch use only. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS. Use only with liquid paraffin oil with wine bottles. Do not fill or re-fill wine bottle when lighted. We recommend using a funnel for re-filling to limit spillage of fuels. Never use gasoline, Kerosene, alcohol, lighter fluid or any other solvents as torch fuels. We recommend that the oil be removed when not in use. Place in a safe container. Never remove the wick or oil when torch is light or hot; the holder and wick must be completely cold before removing wick or oil.
